Betty J. Griffiths, 87, of Spring Street, Tremont, passed away Wednesday morning.

Born in Derry, PA, January 20, 1928, a daughter of the late Earl and Jennie Bowers Smith.

Betty was a retired seamstress from the garment industry.

She was a faithful member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Tremont.

Betty enjoyed spending time with her family; whether it being with Tom and Maggie or simply sitting on her porch greeting her friends and neighbors. 

She was predeceased by two sons, David and Jeffrey Griffiths; a grandson, Jeffrey Griffiths; a great grandson, Hunter Renninger; three brothers, Edward, Frank and Harry; five sisters, Mae, Ann, Nancy Garnet and Sarah.

Surviving are two sons, Thomas Griffiths and Marc Griffiths, both of Tremont;  Granddaughter, Heather Renninger, Newtown, along with additional grandchildren and great grandchildren; a sister, Jane Litzinger, Avonmore.   Nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be private.  Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Tremont.  Dimon Funeral Home, Tower City, has been entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers donations should be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, 6 W. Main Street, Tremont, PA 17981.
