EUGENE W. STRINE, 73, of Williamstown, passed away Friday at the Hershey Medical Center.
 
Born in Fisherville, September 21, 1942 a son of the late Victor and Mary Kerstetter Strine.
 
Gene was a proud United States Army Veteran of the Vietnam War.
 
Gene was a retired truck driver with Red Star Trucking. He had also owned and operated Strines Coil and Refrigeration, Williamstown.
 
He was a very active life member of the Tower City American Legion #468, where he was a past commander.  He currently served as Manager and Adjutant of the post; he was very involved with the annual Memorial Day Parade and Flag Retirement Ceremony.
 
Gene  currently served as the American Legion Eastern Vice Commander of Membership.  Gene was the former Eastern Vice Commander of the American Legion. He also served as commander, deputy commander and membership chairman of District 13, Schuylkill County.
 
He was a member of the Williamstown United Methodist Church; AMVETS, Minersville; Valley View V.F.W.; Liberty Hose Co. #1, Williamstown and the Swatara Lodge 276 F&AM, Tremont.
 
Surviving are his wife of 32 years, Delphine M. Lubold Strine; two daughters, Malinda Stuart, Georgia and Linda Strine, North Carolina; two step-daughters, Victoria Lucas, Harrisburg and Lori Oxenrider, Lykens; three grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
 
American Legion Services will be held Wednesday, May 4th at 11:00 am from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home, Inc., Tower City followed by Funeral Services with Pastor Monica Romberger. Burial with Military Honors will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Viewing will be from 9:30-11 am at the chapel.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Gene's name should be made to Tower City American Legion, 2 Clarks Valley Rd, Tower City, PA 17980.  To sign the guest book visit www.dimonfuneralhome.com
